two nights on Mackinac Island and so much more!

MON, JUNE 23, (Day 1 )  We will have an early start this morning to connect with our flight from Baltimore toDetroit, MI.  After lunch in the Detroit area, we head off to "America's Greatest History Attraction", The Henry Ford Museum.  You will have the choice of three options this afternoon:  The Henry Ford Museum (American Industrial history); The Ford Rouge Factory Tour (assembly of the Ford F-150 truck); or Greenfield Village (a land museum of the life and times of Henry Ford and Thomas Edison).  Dinner and overnight are outside of Detroit in Canton, MI (D)

TUE, JUNE 24, (Day 2) Our destination today is beautiful Mackinac Island.  On our way north we will make a fun stop in the town of Frankenmuth where we will browse the streets of this unique and thoroughly German town. We'll have time to shop at Bronner's CHRISTmas World before heading north. A ferry will take us to Mackinac Island where we go back to a time of horse-drawn carriages and bicycles as no automobiles are permitted on the island.  We'll settle into our hotel for the next two nights and enjoy an evening by the lake, wandering around the quaint town and sharing a delicious dinner together.  (B, D)

WED, JUNE 25, (Day 3) This morning, we will enjoy a carriage tour of the Island.  Our carriage will then take us to The Grand Hotel, the "Jewel of the Island" and also the world's largest summer hotel since 1887.  Here, we will feast on a bountiful lunch buffet. The afternoon is at your leisure. Leisure activities include a tour of Fort Mackinac, renting bicycles, walking along the lake, shopping in the historic town center or relaxing at our hotel.  While you are enjoying the sights this afternoon, you may want to keep your eyes open for a fun place for dinner!  (B, L)

THU, JUNE 26, (Day 4) It's just a 30-minute ferry ride back to the mainland this morning, and we're on our way to Grand Rapids and The Frederick Meijer Gardens.  A guided tram tour takes us through the internationally acclaimed outdoor gardens and we can browse the indoor gardens at our leisure.  Dinner and overnight in Grand Rapids.  (B, D)

FRI, JUNE 27 (Day 5) Grand Rapids is the home of "Radio Bible Class Ministries",  Christian Publishers of the devotional book "Our Daily Bread" and many other Christian books, music and videos. This morning, we will have the opportunity to tour the facility and meet the people involved. Then it is on to Holland, reaching the Dutch Village in time for a typical Dutch lunch.  The Village boasts canals, gardens, windmills, carving exhibits and much more for you to explore. Later this afternoon we have a Mystery Adventure that will have you talking all the way back home!!  Dinner and a tour are included tonight at the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Museum in Grand Rapids. The tour and meal are included by The Heritage Society of Messiah College. (B,L,D)
